Easter Weekend

I invite to people to church often. Sometimes people come and sometimes not- more not. I sent out an email with an invite to some of my co-workers and I can tell you I have had such a great response. I realize some people have reservation and some may even be totally opposed to the way in which the weekend is being handeled as I have read in this blog. I am pretty conservative and I can tell you at first it went against my grain when I first heard of the events to be taken place on Easter. As the weeks began passing by, a "buzz" has come across Corpus with the news of our Easter weekend. I have witnessed more positive affects than not. Once I sent the email out, I immediately had two of my co-workers began asking me questions. They both commented on how they always wanted to go to "that church" and even though they knew different people who went there they never felt comfortable going because as most people, they dont want to impose on "someone else's church". Because of the massive broadcast of the events going on in the church coupled with the personal invite that I extended, I can tell you these two are very encouraged to attend and plan on bringing their families. They never saw it as being "bribed" into coming to church, they simply felt more welcomed and free to come because they knew that it was an open invitation from both the church and a church member! Wow! What a testimony! It has become evident to me that regardless of how we see things from our view here are on earth, it is so important to be obedient to that which God has called us. Thank you Bill for your obedience, it has provided such a great foundation on which to invite others to church.

persecuted at work?

You know and I know that it's all about winning souls. Church's bless people all the time they just don't advertise it. Stay humble and pray for those who persecute you and your church. Don't be surprised if you see those very same people at the service. If people are getting saved then no one can say anything against it, well they can say things and it may hurt you and you have to hear it but just pray for them. I'm sure they will be watching it on tv or internet and if it gets them to hear the word of God then its worth it all if they recieve Christ. Stay at your Church and take up your cross at work.

giveaway

I just came in to work and already I'm having to hear patients and some of my co-workers criticisms about (in their opinion)BAY AREA's "GIVEAWAY" and "ROCK & ROLL" church. How Bay Area has to bribe people into their church. I am sooooo upset right now...I LOVE MY BAY AREA CHURCH!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's the first church ever that makes me feel so emotional and so close to my GOD.

I do understand how you

I do understand how you feel. My family and I, just started attending BAF. I have also heard comments from family, friends and other people about the GREAT GIVE-AWAY. I have come to believe that some people will critize what they do not understand. In my opinion BAF is doing a great thing this easter. So many people will be blessed. That after all is the MAIN reason for this event. So do not be discouraged, take a moment, take a deep breath and remember the feeling you get when you are at BAF. And continue to be a shining light and example of the LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST.

You are not alone...

You are so not alone on those comments and attitudes. People that are very close to me give me that same attitude and use the same derogatory comments. I try defending our church and our pastor but explaining does not seem to change anything. They just don't know what they are missing out in. Even though it bothers me and even angers me also, God will prevail in the end! He always does!
